Quran memorization is a specialist process that requires a lot of commitment, dedication and hard work. If you want to enlist yourself as a Hafiz, you not only need to dedicate more-than-usual time but also receive support from a reliable and professional platform.
As the name suggests this is an intensive course that will be conducted very professionally and systematically through a well-structured learning plan. The personalised plan will give an idea of development, progress and completion including how fastened you need to be.
So, if you are dedicated and disciplined to follow our programme by sparing a good 3 hours per day for this task, then Baytul Ilm Academy Sunderland is the best platform for enrolling in an intensive Hifz program under the supervision of very committed Huffaz tutors who themselves have completed their Hifz with their structured plans including experienced in leading Taraweeh prayers.
At Baytul Ilm Academy with our many years of experience of teaching Hifz we ensure our students are trained to learn the skills of memorisation and given techniques to build the required competencies before fully committing to the flow of memorising the Quran. Our syllabus has been developed for students living in the UK and devised taking into account the preferred learning styles suited to the students of today.
All our teachers are regularly trained ensuring the level and quality of the teaching is standardised and of a high level.
Responsibility of parents
Becoming a Hafiz is a great honour and blessing of Allah but requires hard work. To make a child successful in their journey to become a Hafiz the parents play a critical role. This role is by being committed to making the child a hafiz, sacrifice time and being patient and forbearing with hardship. The Hafiz class staff will work closely with parents and require their full support by being involved for the sake of the child.
Aims of the Programme
- To create a healthy environment for children to memorize the Qur’an To teach students the basic subjects of the Islamic tradition
- To recite the Quran as revealed to the Noble Messenger Peace be on him
- To build a relation with the book of Allah, preserve it in their heart and develop a love for it.
- To offer a range of complement learning that covers the basics of Islamic faith
- existing key stage learning including introducing young people to a new interest or hobby.
- To avoid forgetting that which has been learned and recite habitually

Admission
Admission to Hafiz is subject to a successful assessment. The assessment will explore the following prerequisite;
1. Is the student able to recite the Quran in a flowing manner
2. Is the recitation with basic rules of Tajween
3. What is the student’s attitude towards intensive hifz
4. Commitment from parents/guardian
5. Commitment to Hafiz class timimgs
6. 6 month probation period (if admission is successful)
Timetable and Duration
• Start of Programme: September (mid year intakes are also available)
• Mode of Attendance: Weekly, Monday to Friday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and Saturdays 11am to 12.30pm
• Hours of study: 11 hours a week in class and 7 hours home study. Sessions will be onsite only
Quality assurance
Quality assurance arrangements are put in place to support students to reach key milestones. These are delivered on a regular basis with quarterly reporting available for parents/guardians.
Assessments/examination
Hafiz class assessments take place twice a year. Once in December and end of year exams in July. Pass mark is 60%. Where a student is unable to achieve 60% they are given opportunities and support to improve and resit examinations if applicable.
Costs
The annual cost of Hafiz class is £1000. This is to be paid in quarterly instalments. Instalments are due in in September, December, March, June by direct debit – cash can be accepted on exception.
Parents with multiple children enrolled can receive a 10% discount from the second child onwards only if paid by direct debit. Please enquire at enrolment stage.
