Diploma in Islamic Studies (Sanatayn)

Overview & Course Information

The Diploma in Islamic Studies course has been exclusively designed for women, men, university students, professionals and teens. The courses is branched from the traditional Alimiyyah programme taught in seminaries across the world, where students study an abridged version of the Islamic Sciences, which is structured around a series of set modules and texts. The medium for teaching is English and Arabic. The course is designed to give students an foundational level of knowledge and understanding of the Islamic Sciences and the Classical Arabic language. The key purpose of the course is to provide attendees a holistic understanding of Islam and to aid them in embedding the Islamic principles into their daily lives. 

The Course is unique in the sense that it provides a safe environment for students to openly discuss any questions or doubts that they may have and develop an Islamic outlook for life through the aid of qualified teachers.




 


 Aims of the Programme

·         To teach students the fundamental subjects of the Islamic tradition

·         To equip students with relevant intellectual and practical skills to apply their knowledge and understanding in contemporary society.

·         To bring dialogue on being a Muslim and a UK citizen exploring its intricacies

 

   Teaching Method

·         Reading of classical texts

·         Open discussions and correction of any problematic ideas

·         Explanation of commentary with unbroken chain of narration

·         Multi diverse teaching enabling students to be connected to spirituality

·         Self-contained class (not too much homework)

·         Classes focused more on practical implementation rather than just academics.

·         Assessment designed in the form of multiple-choice questions and/or oral tests.

Focus on developing character (amal batinah) namely by identifying the traits within ourselves


Duration

The course will run over 2 years during term time. 

·         Timeline of Programme: September to July 

·         Mode of Attendance: Part-time (2 days a week)

·         Hours of study: 4 hours a week over 2 sessions. Sessions will be onsite

·         1 hour off site self study (recommended)


     Online portal

Students will have access to designated student space on the Academy's portal which will enable you to download resources, review notes and instructions and also catch up on demand.

 

Fees and Discounts

The annual fee of the diploma is £800.

This is to be paid in quarterly instalments of £200.Quarterly payments are due on the following dates:

·         1st September

·         1st December

·         1st March

·         1st June. 


£70 discount is available if one off payment for the full year is paid in September

Registration Fee

All new applicants are required to pay a one-off, non-refundable registration fee of £50 at the time of enrolment. This mandatory fee covers the administrative processing associated with setting up a new student’s enrolment and account.

The registration fee is separate from tuition and other course fees and does not form part of the student’s regular monthly tuition payments. Payment of the registration fee is required before enrolment can be confirmed.

Family discounts: We recognise that families enrolling more than one student may have additional costs. Family discounts may be available in certain circumstances and will be considered on an individual basis. Please contact the office for further information and to discuss eligibility.
