Tazkiya (تَزكِيَة) is an Arabic term that means purification—specifically, the purification of the soul or self. In Islamic context, it refers to the spiritual process of cleansing the heart and character from sins, impurities, and negative traits like arrogance, jealousy, hatred, and hypocrisy, while developing virtues like sincerity (ikhlas), humility, patience, and trust in Allah (tawakkul).
Tazkiya is taught to year 1 Sanatayn Adult students. It enables the students to start their Islamic learning with a growing relationship with Allah and his noble messenger peace be on him.
